The State Duma decided to re-broadcast the plenary sessions on the website and social networks, according to the website of the lower house of parliament. There have been no broadcasts since October 2022 due to the fact that a “significant part” of the agenda was occupied by issues related to the war.
As the State Duma notes, the plenary sessions will be broadcast without the first question when the deputies discuss the agenda. Today's meeting is already available on the website.
As TASS wrote, Sardana Avksentiev, deputy head of the New People faction, in particular, wrote a letter to State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin with a request to restore broadcasts. She recalled that the decision to stop them was related to security due to the discussion of military issues.
“However, now that the situation has somewhat stabilized, it has become obvious that this decision needs to be adjusted. Focusing on security, we left, as they say, the principles of openness behind the scenes, ”TASS quotes Avksentieva.
