MOSCOW, Mar 22, Andrey Vasilchin. Recently, Italy hosted the national indoor running championship among visually impaired athletes (this category is called F50). The event would hardly have received the attention of the world media, if not for one thing: the winner of the tournament was a transgender. We are talking about the 49-year-old athlete Valentina Petrillo, who not only took the eighth gold of the championship, but also set a national record at a distance of 200 m.
Previously, a transgender person performed at the Paralympic tournaments, but due to the dissatisfaction of the athletes, Valentina had to go down to the veteran level. She runs really well, but if you look at the video of the race, you will understand how much the Italian surpasses her rivals in absolutely all respects: the advantage in height, muscles and leg length/stride looks enormous.
What do we know about the winner of the competition? Valentina until 2019 was Fabrizio. From an early age, the man had problems with vision, which over time became worse and worse. Fortunately, this did not interfere with sports: the Italian played futsal (he even got into the Italian national team for the visually impaired), and then decided to focus on running disciplines.
When Fabrizio turned 45, he confessed to his wife and two children who identify as female and start hormone therapy.
