The American company Fisker, led by Danish designer and entrepreneur Henrik Fisker, has certified the top Extreme version of its Ocean electric SUV: The Fisker Ocean began production last November at Magna Steyr's plant in Graz, Austria, and the platform behind the crossover was also developed by Magna. The main markets for Fisker Ocean were Europe and the USA, the first finished machines were planned to be shipped here in February, but this did not happen due to the protracted certification. A recent press release from Fisker says that Ocean certification in Europe should be completed only at the end of April, and only after that the cars assembled in Austria will go to consumers.
In confirmation that the certification is going and going well, Fisker has released the official range on a single charge of the twin-engine all-wheel drive 557-horsepower version of the Ocean Extreme — 707 km on the WLTP cycle. This is noticeably more than 630 km, which the company promised in the fall. The certification power reserve of the younger versions of Sport (one motor, 279 hp, front-wheel drive) and Ultra (two motors, 544 hp, all-wheel drive) has not yet been received, the calculated values are 440 and 610 km, respectively. Fisker does not disclose battery capacity.
Fisker Ocean's roof-mounted solar panel can generate electricity for an additional 2,400 km mileage per year.
After the start of production, Fisker adjusted the prices for Ocean downwards: in Germany, the basic Sport version now costs from 38,883 euros, Ultra — from 54,323 euros, Extreme — from 67,272 euros. According to the company, more than 65,000 orders have now been collected for the crossover, while the plant in Graz will assemble only 42,400 cars according to the plan by the end of this year, that is, everyone who wishes will not receive their Ocean this year.

In terms of range per charge, the Fisker Ocean Extreme holds the record for the SUV segment in Europe. For comparison, let's say that the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV can travel a maximum of 671 km on a single charge, Tesla Model X — 576 km on a single charge, Tesla Model Y — 533 km. Fisker Ocean Extreme did not have absolute leadership in terms of power reserve, because there is a Mercedes-Benz EQS liftback with a power reserve of up to 783 km.
In the USA, we don’t remember a single serial crossover that would travel over 700 km on a single charge, but this country has its own EPA driving cycle, according to which the Ocean will anyway a different figure for the power reserve and, most likely, it will be less than 700 km. Meanwhile, the American crossover Lucid Gravity, due to go into production next year, promises a range of over 800 km on a single charge.
We add that Ocean is the first production model of Fisker, in 2024 in the USA at the Foxconn plant production of the junior Fisker Pear crossover will begin, then according to the plan — an Alaska pickup truck based on the Ocean crossover and an all-wheel drive three-engine Ronin four-door convertible.
