MOSCOW, March 28 Students from Ivanovo have developed sticker sensors that show damage to cargo, the press service of the National Technology Initiative (NTI) said.
«The team of the Ivanovo State University of Chemistry and Technology has created sticker sensors that show that the cargo was damaged during transportation and help track when it happened. The solution will improve the quality of delivery of valuable, expensive or fragile goods for transport companies. Work on The project was carried out as part of an acceleration program operated by the Platform of the National Technology Initiative,» the organization said.
This is a small self-adhesive shock sensor, which is often used by transport companies. During laboratory experiments, the developers drew attention to a special substance, N-acetyldihydroanonaine, which reacts to physical impact and changes color when the cargo is damaged.
«The sensor is a sticker with a substance applied to it. The substance is fixed on a sticker that can be placed on the shipping package. If the damage occurs at the location of the sticker, then the substance luminescence occurs. The sensor will not work if the package is torn or stretched elsewhere», — NTI quoted the words of the team leader, a first-year master's student of the Ivanovo State University of Chemistry and Technology Daniil Gryaznov.
The cost of components for one sensor-sticker will be 5 rubles based on a batch of 500 pieces.
«In the near future, the student company plans to conduct laboratory tests of the substance, and by mid-2023 a test sample of the sensor will appear. It is planned to bring the solution to the market in the next 2-3 years,» the NTI added.
