St. PETERSBURG, March 28 A court in St. Petersburg will consider the case of publicist Yevgeny Bestuzhev on the spread of fakes about the Russian Armed Forces after posts on the social network about the actions of the Russian military, says in a statement.
The prosecution believes that Bestuzhev, not being a specialist and expert in the field of political science and military affairs, posted 27 entries on his profile on the VKontakte social network from February 23 to March 30, 2022.
«All of Bestuzhev's records, under the guise of reliable reports, contained deliberately false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation outside the territory of the Russian Federation … The Kalininsky District Court of St. Petersburg registered a criminal case against Yevgeny Bestuzhev, accused of committing a crime, provided for in paragraph «d» part 2 of article 207.3 (public dissemination of knowingly false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation,» the joint press service of the city courts said in a statement.
In St. Petersburg, Bestuzhev is known as a publicist and analyst.
