MOSCOW, Mar 28, Sergey Smyshlyaev. Russian athletes don't need international competitions under the conditions announced by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), said the head of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR) Elena Vyalbe.
On Tuesday, following the results of the first day of meetings in Lausanne, the IOC Executive Committee recommended that international federations allow Russians who did not support the SVO to compete as neutral athletes. The IOC also recommended that athletes associated with the armed forces or security agencies not be allowed to compete. In matters of admission of Russian athletes, according to the recommendations of the IOC, public statements of athletes, including in social networks, participation in rallies and demonstration of symbols in support of the CBO, for example, the Z symbol, should be taken into account. The Executive Committee recommended not to consider teams from Russia and Belarus as participants in international competitions in team sports.
“What I said earlier: I don’t even want to discuss it! I am categorically against the neutral status, all the more there are many additions: “who does not support the SVO”, “who is not in the security and armed structures” and “who did not participate in concerts Z». In general, the IOC is once again trying to shift everything to the international federations, while apparently sending them instructions already. My opinion: we do not need their international competitions under such conditions!», — said Vyalbe.
