MOSCOW, Mar 29 Pentagon plans to release decks playing cards depicting NATO weapons systems for the Ukrainian military is part of the psychological and information processing, said the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
The New York Times has previously reported that the Pentagon is planning to release decks of playing cards depicting NATO weapons systems to help Ukrainian forces recognize the weapons supplied to them on the battlefield.
“These are not their findings, this, unfortunately, is a sad classic of information psychological warfare and the actual psychological impact on people … They will informationally and psychologically process representatives of the armed forces of Ukraine. But this is not the only method, this is just what they are talking about. they say. But there are a lot of the same things, just the problem is that at some stage the citizens of Ukraine allowed themselves to carry out such experiments — on a large scale, on a smaller scale, and so on. This is just part of the psychological processing of the population and only a small part, which became known, there are a huge number of such things,» she said on the air of Sputnik radio.
The Pentagon has released similar decks in the past, thus acquainting its soldiers with samples of Chinese, Russian and Iranian military equipment. This idea goes back to the days of World War II, when fighter jets used by the allies and their enemies were depicted on the maps.
Earlier, Russia sent a note to NATO countries because of arms supplies to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any cargo that contains weapons for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia. The Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation stated that the NATO countries are «playing with fire» by supplying weapons to Ukraine. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov noted that pumping Ukraine with weapons from the West does not contribute to the success of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and will have a negative effect.
