YAKUTSK, April 1 The creation of new transport corridors with China will be beneficial for Yakutia and will provide a powerful incentive for the development of the coal industry and iron ore mining , said the head of the republic, Aisen Nikolaev, on the air of the Yakutia 24 TV channel.
Earlier it was reported that cooperation between Yakutia and China was discussed at a meeting of the head of the republic, Aisen Nikolaev, with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the PRC to Russia, Zhang Hanhui. Among the promising areas, the head of the region named the project of cooperation on the construction of the transport and logistics complex «Dzhalinda — Mohe (PRC)».
Bilateral relations between Yakutia and China have been developing successfully for a long time. Since 2004, a representative office of the region has been operating in Beijing, interregional ties between the republic and a number of provinces of the PRC are being strengthened, 19 municipalities of Yakutia have established twinning ties with 24 municipalities of China in the provinces of Heilongjiang and Jilin.
Nikolaev noted that at the end of 2022, foreign trade turnover with China increased by an estimated 80% compared to 2021. According to him, Yakutia and China consider the creation of transport corridors a promising area for cooperation. The issue of realizing opportunities along new transport corridors is currently being worked out with the Chinese side.
«Due to various objective and subjective reasons, it has not yet moved, and now thanks to the support of the plenipotentiary representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev, the efforts of the Amur Region and our republic, as well as the participation of the Chinese side, the project has every chance of being implemented in the coming years.Of course, this project will be beneficial for Yakutia.Today, the lack of railway capacity does not allow the implementation of projects in the coal industry and the extraction of iron ore.I am sure that the appearance of this road will provide a powerful incentive for the implementation of the planned plans, which will lead to improved quality life of the inhabitants of Yakutia», — said the head of the region. =»true» data-id=»1860657223″ data-url=»https://ria.ru/20230325/kitay-1860657223.html» data-title=»Putin explained why Russia and China naturally complement each other»>
