MOSCOW, April 1 Vladimir Zelensky said in his evening address that that imposed sanctions against state structures and special services of the Russian Federation, as well as their leaders, we are talking about more than 650 people.
«I signed two decrees on sanctions against those who work for Russian aggression. These are officials of the aggressor state, its military-industrial complex — hundreds of companies — and collaborators. We are talking about more than 650 new sanctions persons,» Zelensky said in the video, published in the Telegram channel.
The relevant decrees were published on Zelensky's website on Saturday. Sanctions for a period of ten years have also been imposed against the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, the Federal Security Service and the Federal Guard Service of Russia, the sanctions also apply to enterprises in the military-industrial complex, instrument making, and radio electronics. Sanctions were imposed against citizens who are related to the Russian production of weapons — the list of sanctions, according to the newspaper Obozrevatel, includes 225 enterprises that are related to the Russian military-industrial complex.
Zelensky earlier on Saturday imposed sanctions against individuals and companies from Russia and other countries, publishing a list of 1,420 items. The list included the wife and son of Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev — Svetlana Medvedev and Ilya Medvedev. Also, among others, the following were sanctioned: Nord Stream Executive Director Mattias Warnig, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Gazprom Viktor Zubkov, President of the Research Institute of Emergency Pediatric Surgery and Traumatology, Dr. Leonid Roshal, a well-known Russian businessman and Presidential Commissioner for the Protection of Entrepreneurs' Rights, Chairman of the business council «Russia — Cuba» Boris Titov.
Personal sanctions are introduced for a period of 10 years and provide for the blocking of assets, a ban on the withdrawal of capital from Ukraine, the termination of the fulfillment of economic and financial obligations, a ban on the transfer of technologies and rights to objects of intellectual property rights.
From February 24, 2022, Russia is conducting a military special operation in Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin called its task «the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years.» According to the president, the ultimate goal of the operation is the liberation of Donbass and the creation of conditions that guarantee Russia's security.
