MOSCOW, 31 Mar. The Ukrainian army will not be able to fully retake territories from Russia this year, Pentagon Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Milley said in an interview with Defense One.
«I don't think it will be done anytime soon this year «, — he said.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine plan to occupy all regions along the 1991 border, the general recalled.
«This is a serious military task. A very, very difficult military task,» — the officer clarified.
Last week, Milley, speaking in the US Congress, already called Zelensky's desire to «return» Crimea maximalist. He also stressed that Washington is not at war with Russia, but only «helps Ukraine fight for territorial integrity.»
