The publishers called «Gone with the Wind» a harmful book

MOSCOW, 3 Apr. A British publisher has released Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell with a warning about the work's problematic content, Independent writes.
It states that the book has not been stripped of «offensive» material and contains «racist» passages that «may hurt and are certainly harmful.»
Gone with the Wind was first published in 1936. The novel is set during the Civil War in the United States. The slave-owning South and abolitionists from the North fought.

The main character Scarlett O'Hara is the daughter of a plantation owner. Her image in the 1939 film was embodied by Vivien Leigh.
