YAROSLAVL, April 5 A resident of the Tula region, who beat a pediatrician with a shovel, was sent for compulsory psychiatric treatment, the regional prosecutor's office said.
«The court established that on the morning of December 28, 2022, a 40-year-old resident of the Leninsky district, suffering from a chronic mental disorder, at the entrance of house No. -pediatrician) at least 11 blows to the body and head,» the report says.
It is specified that the 60-year-old victim was taken to the hospital, where she received medical care. The harm caused to her health was qualified as light.
The assailant was tried for threatening to kill and causing minor bodily harm with an object used as a weapon.
«Taking into account the position of the public prosecutor, the woman was released from criminal responsibility for the committed acts and a coercive medical measure was applied to her in the form of compulsory treatment in a medical organization providing psychiatric care in general hospital conditions,» the prosecutor's office informs.
The incident caused a resonance in the local media and social networks, since the victim is a well-known pediatrician in the area.
