A draft law on toughening responsibility for sabotage activities has been submitted to the State Duma
A draft law providing for amendments to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on tougher penalties for sabotage has been submitted to the State Duma of the Russian Federation. This was announced by the head of the Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption Vasily Piskarev.
In accordance with the amendments, it is proposed to impose imprisonment for up to 20 years for committing sabotage. Now the maximum punishment for sabotage is 15 years in prison.
It is proposed to toughen the responsibility for such actions as damage to transport infrastructure and life support of the population. In addition, it is proposed to toughen the punishment for harming people's health in order to undermine the economic security of the Russian state.
