Today, the Investigative Committee announced that a criminal case on causing death by negligence was initiated in St. Petersburg after the death of six adult residents of a psycho-neurological boarding school since 2022. According to the investigation, employees of the psycho-neurological boarding school, which is located on Kollontai Street, improperly performed their duties of caring for those suffering from mental illness.
«At present, supervisory activities and field activities in PNI No. 10 have not been completed, the audit is ongoing. The issue of taking prosecutorial response measures will be resolved after they are completed,» the press service of the prosecutor's office reports.
Employees of Roszdravnadzor, Rospotrebnadzor, labor inspectorate are connected to the check, they added.
Checks of law enforcement officers began after the appeal of the head of the multidisciplinary center for palliative care of the Moscow Health Department, Nyuta Federmesser, who asked to «punish those responsible for the death of children» in PNI No. 10. According to her, seven children died «recently» here, the last death was on April 17.
