A case was opened against a DOXA employee to justify terrorism due to a post on VKontakte about a mailing list about arson of military registration and enlistment offices

The Department of the Investigative Committee for the South-Western District of Moscow opened a case to justify terrorism against Maria Menshikova, an employee of the DOXA magazine. This was reported to Kommersant by the department.

The reason was last year's post in the DOXA public on VKontakte dated July 9 about their mailing list about anti-war actions. It was accompanied by an illustration of a man throwing a Molotov cocktail at the military registration and enlistment office.

The post also suggested informing the editorial office “about detained partisans” and writing letters to “those who resist the war” — people arrested in cases of arson of military registration and enlistment offices .

A psycholinguistic examination of the post, according to Kommersant, found in it signs of «justification, inducement to support persons whose activities are assessed as illegal, including terrorist» (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code).< /p>

At the same time, at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office, VKontakte blocked the DOXA public page in Russia back in March 2022. It was available in Russia only through VPN services.

Menshikov is now in Germany. She told Mediazone that she did not know the details of the case.
