MOSCOW, April 22 The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine speaks for the inadmissibility of holding a Slavic festival in France, the department said in a telegram channel.
The Arsmondo Festival takes place in April-May in Strasbourg, France under the auspices of the National Rhine Opera and includes concerts, opera performances, exhibitions, film screenings and lectures.
«The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy stands for the inadmissibility of narratives about Slavic peoples at the festival at the Festival Arsmondo Slave,» the message says.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Culture stated that it considers the festival on the theme of Slavic peoples during the conflict inappropriate, and also accused the organizers of using terms «repeating Russian propaganda narratives» and «consonant with the idea of the Russian world» when describing the concept of the festival.
The festival program for the next few weeks includes exhibitions of works by Slavic photographers, a jazz concert by Ukrainian musicians, a lecture on the politicization of rock music in Belarus, a film screening of a film about the events in Mariupol, an exhibition dedicated to Russian-language literature banned in USSR, and an opera performance based on «The Tale of Tsar Saltan».
