"The trend has changed very much towards less use of the dollar or the euro. Taking into account the current problems in settlements with these currencies, in our calculations we actually switch only to national currencies. And here the yuan is in demand, the ruble is in demand. This vector will be continued,” he said.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, now China is paying in yuan for gas and partly for oil, payments are also being made in rubles.

“We will continue to improve these mutual settlements in national currencies,” Novak added.

According to the Central Bank, last year the share of the dollar and the euro in payments for Russian exports fell from 87 to 48 percent, for the first time since 2013 falling below the 50 percent mark. At the same time, the share of the ruble and yuan increased significantly – up to 34 and 16 percent, respectively (in 2013, the Russian currency accounted for 10.2 percent, and the Chinese – only 0.5 percent).
