The St. Petersburg Maly Drama Theater (MDT) postponed until the end of May two performances based on the play «Deceit and Love» with the participation of actor Danila Kozlovsky, who was previously reported to the Prosecutor General's Office by Vitaly Borodin, who wrote denunciations on Russian media. This was reported on the website of the theater.
“Unfortunately, the performances of "Deceit and Love", scheduled for April 22 and 23, we are forced to reschedule to May 23 and 24, respectively. Tickets are valid. We really hope that the performances will take place, ”the MDT publication says.
Before that, the theater management postponed the performances of Hamlet with Kozlovsky in the title role. Then the authors of the message about the postponement of the event also expressed the hope that the performances would take place.
In mid-April, it became known that Borodin asked the Prosecutor General's Office to check the actor for violations of the article on «discrediting» the army. The pro-government activist saw Kozlovsky's anti-war statements in an interview, and also noted that the artist traveled to the United States. After that, according to a TASS source in the «law enforcement agencies», the department began an audit.
In response, the actor filed a lawsuit for the protection of honor, dignity and business reputation against Borodin and TASS, but the Presnensky District Court of Moscow did not accept it “on formal grounds,” RIA Novosti wrote.
