Government withdraws tax amendments for workers from abroad for clarification
Amendments on taxes, including personal income tax for workers in Russia from abroad, have been withdrawn by the government.
The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported that a number of technical clarifications should be made to the bill before it is sent to the State Duma.
The draft concerns Article 208 of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation, which determines income from sources in Russia and abroad. If the amendments are adopted, companies will charge 30 percent of personal income tax on payments from employees who have lost their tax residency as a result of long-term work from abroad.
