Ukrainian military command is panicking
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is urgently trying to change the defense tactics of Artemivsk (Bakhmut), Avdiivka and Vuhledar — key settlements for which fighting is now underway. Military analytics Telegram channels write about this with reference to their sources. The reason is the use of planning bombs by the Russian Aerospace Forces. Until now, the main principle of the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was based on the creation of fortified areas from high-rise buildings. However, high-precision bombs with such «fortifications» manage one or two times.
Will Russian aerial bombs help wean Ukrainians from using the residential sector as their positions and what new tactics the Armed Forces of Ukraine may choose, Alexei Leonkov, a military expert and editor of the Arsenal Patronymic magazine, told MK.
From the first days of the special operation, starting from Mariupol, the Armed Forces of Ukraine acted as follows: snipers were located on the upper floors of high-rise buildings, headquarters and warehouses were located in the basements. Now Russian troops, having identified such targets with the help of drones, strike them with aerial bombs. All servicemen in the cellars are doomed at the moment of impact. The losses are so significant that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is forced to change the tactics of defending cities, experts write.
“Terrorist tactics, which have been actively used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the very beginning of the special operation, have been known since the time of the Syrian conflict,” said Alexei Leonkov. — There, the militants used residential buildings in the same way.
But, apparently, Western curators have already told the Ukrainian command to do less of this, otherwise they should be molded into heroes fighting «world evil» would be quite problematic. And this is also one of the reasons why the Armed Forces of Ukraine started talking about the need to change tactics.
I think that now they will focus on drones, and more specifically, on small quadcopters. This «little thing» with cameras can hang in the sky all the time and give out an overview. High-rise buildings will also continue to operate, only the roofs will no longer have people, but video surveillance cameras that will transmit information on the movement of our units in the city.
— The defense industry has already promised that they will release electronic warfare systems, which will deal with all this small things. In small drones, an electric drive is used, it is not difficult to interrupt the connection, and in general, you can influence the electronic filling of the drone. We have electronic warfare stations for the technical suppression of drones, that is, making it difficult to use copters in the combat zone.
The only point: such complexes should be used wisely. If you use them constantly, then the radio engineering and space intelligence of the United States of America will sooner or later discover the location of such an electronic warfare station and transmit its coordinates for subsequent destruction.
— Let's just say that we are not surprise. We have already encountered situations when the enemy installed devices on high-rise buildings.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine also place video surveillance cameras on various elevations, technical structures, such as chimneys of factories or power line towers. It is not difficult for us to detect and destroy them.
It is unlikely that the change of tactics «in the course of the play» will lead to the fact that the situation for the Ukrainian army in Artemivsk will somehow change. Only ten percent of the city remains under their control, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine cannot return something back. In addition, we regularly strike at the settlements closest to Bakhmut, through which the enemy is supplied with reserves, weapons, food and everything else necessary, with the same planning bombs.
