Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov told reporters of his intention to apply to the US State Department with a request to transfer Russian Anatoly Legkodymov from the dangerous block of the prison to New York, where he is in custody. According to Antonov, there is a threat to the life of Legkodymov in the current place of detention.
Earlier, the ambassador visited other prisoners of Russian origin, Dmitry Ukrainsky and Anatoly Legkodymov, who are in prison in New York. Antonov noted that the fact of their Russian citizenship becomes an additional burden for them. They are in different blocks and have different conditions of detention.
Antonov paid special attention to the situation of Anatoly Legkodymov, who is in a block with murderers and drug addicts and fears for his life. The ambassador stressed that the next step would be to appeal to the State Department with a demand to transfer Legkodymov from the current block and provide him with normal conditions of detention.
