Narusova expressed readiness to give up her seat in the Federation Council if her powers are not extended

MOSCOW, April 25 Senator from the Republic of Tyva Lyudmila Narusova said she was ready to «give way to the young» if her powers are not extended after 2026.
The powers of the senator end in September 2026, according to the website of the Federation Council.

«Let's live, firstly, and, secondly, I've been in parliament since 1995. First, I was a deputy of the Duma, since 2002 I've been in the Federation Council. It's time to give way to the young,» — she answered the agency's question, what would happen if her powers were not extended.

Narusova stressed that this issue does not depend on her, and her desire «no one will ask.»
“You just need to find young people who do not write denunciations, wanting to make a career out of it, but who can think critically,” she added.
The parliamentarian also noted that she does not want to «be a black sheep» against everything that is accepted.
«I want to explain the position: maybe it will convince some deputies to soften the repressive measures that are taken in the laws,» Narusova summed up.
Earlier, Narusova was the only one who voted against the «single register of subpoenas», since, in her opinion, there is an impression of «very great haste in the adoption of this law.» Prior to that, she also voted against the law on discrediting members of the CBO, as it «does not explain the difference between criticism and discredit.»
