MOSCOW, April 26 Vasily Nikonov has become acting general director of the Unipro energy company, according to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (EGRLE).
«Nikonov Vasily Vladislavovich… Position: Acting General Director,» the statement about the company says. Prior to this, Maxim Shirokov held the position of general director.
Nikonov, prior to his current appointment, was the director of the energy department of Rosneft, and before that he worked in the energy ministry, Inter RAO.
Russian President Vladimir Putin Tuesday signed a decree on the response to the seizure of Russian assets abroad and the restriction of property rights. He approved a list of foreign assets that, as a response, are transferred to the temporary administration of the Federal Property Management Agency. So far, it includes 83.73% of Unipro shares indirectly owned by the German government (through Uniper) and 98.23% of Fortum owned by the Finnish concern Fortum.
Unipro is engaged in the production and sale of electric energy and power. The company includes 5 thermal power plants with a total capacity of 11.3 GW. The company is also represented in the distributed generation and engineering markets in the Russian Federation.
