Judge of the Moscow City Court Vyacheslav Polyga satisfied the claim of the Ministry of Justice and liquidated the analytical center «Sova». This is reported by the correspondent of «Mediazona» from the courtroom.
The judge spent 5 minutes in the deliberation room.
The reason for the liquidation of the Ministry of Justice indicated that the «Sova» held events outside the region where it is registered (in Moscow). The agency came to this conclusion as a result of an unscheduled audit, which began in January 2023.
The events were dedicated to the fight against nationalism, as well as the «religious landscape in the Russian regions.» The Ministry of Justice called the holding of events “gross and irremediable” violations.
Sova's lawyer, Diana Sork, said in court that she did not consider performances in other regions a violation — all materials were prepared in Moscow, where Sova is registered. «But it's impossible to sit in one room and interact with the whole world,» she said.
Sova Analytical Center was founded in 2002. He, in particular, explores the problems of nationalism and xenophobia, the relationship between religion and society, political radicalism. The center is headed by human rights activist Alexander Verkhovsky, who until November 2022 was a member of the Presidential Council for Human Rights.
