MOSCOW, Apr 27 International Boxing Association (IBA) banned United States Boxing Federation (USA Boxing) to take part in competitions under its auspices, according to the official website of the IBA.
On October 5, 2022, the IBA announced the admission of athletes from Russia and Belarus to international tournaments under the flags of their countries; if they win, national anthems will be played. Boxing associations of several countries, including the United States and Great Britain, refused to take part in the world championships due to the admission of Russians. A group of countries intends to create a new organization called World Boxing. On Wednesday, USA Boxing announced that they were ending their IBA membership and applying to World Boxing.

The US Boxing Federation and all its members, including officials, coaches and boxers, are prohibited from having any relationship with the IBA and from participating in any competition under its auspices. The foregoing is an automatic mechanism, initiated by USA Boxing's withdrawal from the IBA. USA Boxing's decision has not only harmed all of its members, but also deprived the boxing community as a whole of the opportunity to compete together and raise the level of talent in the boxing family.
In 2019, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) suspended the membership of the IBA. The boxing tournament at the Olympics was saved, but at the Tokyo Games it was held by a special commission of the IOC. In June 2022, the IOC announced that the boxing tournament at the Paris Olympics would once again be held outside the IBA. Boxing is also not included in the preliminary program of the 2028 Olympics.
