The humiliating demands of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) against Russia seem to be reconsidered. The head of the Association of Summer Olympic Federations (ASOIF), Francesco Ricci Bitti, said that I would no longer force our athletes to speak out with a condemnation of a special military operation, but they would still have to sign a certain piece of paper.
What the IOC proposed
Heated disputes regarding the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in international competitions continue. The IOC first spoke for a long time about the impossibility of lifting sanctions, and then suddenly changed its position and started talking about the wrongness of discrimination against athletes on the basis of their nationality. >At some point, I even wanted to believe in the honesty of the head of the organization, Thomas Bach, who severely suppressed the interference of other countries in the affairs of the IOC. This concerned possible boycotts and threats not to participate in competitions if Russians and Belarusians were present there. However, such positive rhetoric has not prevented the IOC from making absolutely impossible demands for the return of our athletes to competition. On March 8, the executive committee of the organization recommended that international federations allow Russians and Belarusians who did not support the special operation to compete in international competitions as neutral athletes. At the same time, the IOC proposed not to allow athletes associated with the armed forces and security agencies to participate in the competition.Since then, the leadership of Russian sports has spoken out in every possible way about the inadequacy of the requirements put forward. Probably, these words influenced the IOC and other sports officials in the West, and they decided to turn on their brains a little. So, the head of ASOIF said that our and Belarusian athletes would no longer be asked to condemn the SVO in Ukraine.

“Athletes will need to sign a declaration, but no one will ask them to say that they are against military action, because in Russia this is a criminally punishable act. With legal assistance, we are in the process of developing a model for this declaration. Pilots "Formula 1" are already doing it. Federations like the International Aquatics Federation (World Aquatics) are already ahead (in this process) and we will try to agree on all this, but it is not easy. There is another delicate topic — this is control (compliance of athletes with criteria). We are exploring the possibility of entrusting this task to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. But it's not official yet,» Ricci Beatty quotes L'Equipe.
It's nice that the head of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) Stanislav Pozdnyakov and Deputy Prime Minister Russia's Dmitry Chernyshenko continues to call the IOC's conditions humiliating and calls for a review of the restrictions. They are well aware that if you give up the slack here and now, it will be even worse further. The IOC will probably come up with something else to make it as difficult as possible for the admission of Russians.
There are no guarantees that, having agreed to such declarations, we will not be deceived and will not be called upon to sign some more papers. As it turned out, bargaining is possible. And now there is no need to condemn the NWO. There and you see, it will be possible to achieve the normal participation of all Russian athletes, and not just those who are not connected with the armed forces and security agencies.
