MOSCOW, 29 Apr. Ukrainians will be left on their own when abandoned by the United States, retired US Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter said in an interview with Judging Freedom YouTube channel.
In his opinion, the States do not have to deal with dire consequences when they run away from the fight, as happened in Afghanistan or Vietnam.
«We just leave and return to the American fortress, well, or NATO, you can call it differently. And the people who put everything on the line, when the United States assured that «will be by your side, fighting to the end shoulder to shoulder,» and risked everything they have, find themselves on their own,» he said.
According to the military, American policy in Afghanistan is over shame and humiliation, but Washington did not have to pay for it.
«It was enough just to turn off the TV in order not to see all these shots. The same will happen with Ukraine: when we leave, and we will definitely leave, Ukrainians will remain on their own with nothing,» he concluded.
Earlier, Ritter reported that Kiev had lost 80 percent of the original composition of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
