MOSCOW, May 1. Russian cosmonauts on the International Space Station will receive fewer days off for the May holidays than all other Russians, they will only have additional rest on May 9, the press reported — service «Roskosmos».
“In the next two weeks, the crew of the Russian segment of the ISS will work according to the following schedule: April 29-30 is a weekend, May 1-5 is a working day, and May 9 is a day off,” the report says.
Now there are three Russian cosmonauts on the ISS — Sergey Prokopiev and Dmitry Petelin, who arrived on the Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft on September 21, 2022 together with American Frank Rubio, and Andrey Fedyaev, who arrived on March 2, 2023 as part of international crew of the American ship Crew Dragon.
In early May, the Russians will conduct a spacewalk on the ISS. Initially, work overboard the station, during which the lock chamber would be transferred from the Rassvet module to the Nauka Multifunctional Laboratory Module (MLM) using the ERA manipulator arm, was planned for April 26, but then was postponed, according to Roskosmos , for a more detailed study of tasks.
Prokopiev and Petelin will work on the outer surface of the ISS during the exit. Fedyaev will remain inside the station and will operate the ERA manipulator. The exact date was not called, but the NASA website reports that the exit may take place on May 3.
