The money saved is planned to be spent on social needs
A group of parliamentarians of the lower house invites senators and deputies to become closer to the people. On Thursday, April 27, they submitted a bill to the State Duma that would deprive legislators of some of the benefits.
Today, members of both houses of parliament receive a ministerial salary. This, according to a number of deputies from different factions of the Duma, is unfair. As it became known to MK, therefore, they proposed to equate the salary of deputies and senators to the average for the country, and today it is about 57 thousand rubles.
The deputies also proposed to cancel a number of benefits for medical, sanatorium household and pension provision, which are used by members of parliament. However, there is one “but”: it is proposed to keep the additional payments to the pensions of those parliamentarians who were given increases before the law enters into force.
Lawmakers note that the adoption of such a law will reduce budget expenditures on maintenance the parliamentary corps, and the money saved can be used for additional social support for citizens.
