At night, in the Gatchina district of the Leningrad region, unidentified people blew up a power line pylon and mined another one. This was reported by the head of the region Alexander Drozdenko.
According to the official, the explosion occurred on May 1 at 00:01. Nearby settlements were not de-energized. FSB and prosecutors are on the scene. Later, Drozdenko wrote on his Telegram channel that explosives had cleared the second pillar of the power line.
The Governor of the Leningrad Region announced that the regional department of the FSB had opened a criminal case on sabotage (Article 281 of the Criminal Code) and illegal trafficking in explosives (Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code ).
In May last year, the security forces detained in Kuzbass a suspect in damage to power transmission poles, who was called a «supporter of the Ukrainian Nazis.» In August, the FSB reported that “Ukrainian saboteurs” had blown up power lines in the Kursk region.
