MOSCOW, April 29 Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the management and investors of the American-Ukrainian company Horizon Capital, whose fund raised $254 million to invest in Ukrainian business.
Horizon Capital manages $1.4 billion in assets, including over $700 million in capital raised to support entrepreneurs from Ukraine and Moldova over the past five years. Last September, representatives of Horizon Capital, The Rockefeller Foundation, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Deutsche Investitions und Entwicklungsgesells and a number of other investors signed a document on participation in financing the new Ukrainian fund Horizon Capital Growth IV.
«Representatives of Horizon Capital announced that they have raised $254 million in their new Horizon Capital Growth Fund IV (HCGF IV), from which Ukrainian companies will be invested,» Zelensky's office said in a statement. The meeting was also attended by investors from the USA, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland and Denmark.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky said that the restoration of Ukraine would require «approximately» $600-800 billion, the exact amount will be known after the end of the conflict. In March, the World Bank, together with the European Commission, the UN and the government of Ukraine, estimated the country's needs for recovery and reconstruction at $411 billion. The updated estimate significantly exceeded the September forecast of 349 billion and is now equivalent to 2.6 of Ukraine's GDP for 2022.
