The State Duma of the Russian Federation proposed paying 20,000 rubles every five years to spouses who have been married for more than 20 years.
Parliamentarians from the Liberal Democratic Party are developing a bill to introduce measures of support throughout the country in the form of payments. Monetary rewards are intended for married couples for the duration of marriage after 20 years.
Now several regions of Russia have already established various measures to support such couples.
"If people have been married for more than 20 years “Let’s pay them 20,000 to each spouse, excluding district coefficients.” — said the initiators of the project.
It is proposed to make a payment every five years. «In addition, the regions will have the right to additionally establish social support measures,» the deputies added.
