YAROSLAVL, May 2. Based on the results of January-March 2023, the Yaroslavl region ranked second in the Central Federal District in terms of industrial production index, the government of the region reported.
According to the regional government, in January-March of this year, the industrial production index in the Yaroslavl region compared to the same period in 2022 amounted to 110.3%.
«This is more than 11 percentage points higher than the average Russian indicator. The region ranks second in the Central Federal District and eighth in the Russian Federation. The industrial sector has successfully adapted to the new economic conditions and is showing growth,» the regional government's press service quoted Governor Mikhail Evraev as saying.
The regional government explained that the dynamics in the first quarter were shown, in particular, by industries related to the production of rubber and plastic products (an increase of 2.9 times), tobacco products (2.7 times), wood processing and the production of wood products and traffic jams (2.1 times).
It is reported that the regional government continues to provide the industrial sector with the necessary support. The work is supervised by the anti-sanctions headquarters headed by Mikhail Evraev.
«In 2022, new production facilities were opened in the region, new lines were launched. Enterprises increased the range of products, occupied niches vacated after the departure of Western competitors, changed logistics chains, entered new suppliers. The production volumes of defense organizations were significantly increased. -industrial complex, new products are being produced,» said Maxim Avdeev, First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Yaroslavl Region.
