Imitators of military vehicles will be able to deceive even sophisticated devices
A new development of scientists from the Combined Arms Order of Zhukov Academy of the Russian Armed Forces will allow more effective deception of the enemy. The other day they received a patent for a self-propelled model of military equipment.
As it became known to MK, until recently, several variants of pseudo-tanks and other imitations of military self-propelled vehicles were used by the armies of the world. They are made in order to disorient the enemy and force him to expend ammunition to destroy, for example, inflatable «equipment». So, recently a major British publication wrote that inflatable tanks are used by the armed forces of Ukraine. Also, artificial tanks are made of elastic porous polymers and other materials.
The problem is that this kind of “technique” can only deceive a person who looks at it from a long distance or a drone operator. Such structures do not have a sufficient number of so-called unmasking signs, that is, features that would indicate that they are not fakes.
Inflatable tanks not only do not look like real ones at a short distance (if only because some of the hatches and slots are drawn on them), but they cannot move, which additionally gives them away. Tanks made of porous polymers, even those equipped with motors, are characterized by low maneuverability and maneuverability, they have no antennas, since the material is not suitable for making objects so small.
At a more or less decent speed, they begin to vibrate suspiciously. Yes, and their motor does not roar, as it should be a full-fledged motor. If the enemy has modern ground-based and air-based optical-electronic, thermal and radar reconnaissance equipment, it is impossible to deceive him with the help of such «machines».
The development of Russian scientists is devoid of these shortcomings. Firstly, it knows how to move, and secondly, it rattles like a real military equipment, thanks to a thermal simulator, it creates an “illusion” for thermal imagers that the car is warmed up like a real one. The shell of such a layout is combined, based on a sheet metal product, some of the outer elements are made of a porous polymer. In addition to the fact that such a structure is much cheaper than a real tank, you do not need to climb into it in order to control it.
