YAROSLAVL, May 4. The owner of an apartment in the Kaluga region will be tried for fictitious registration of 624 citizens of the Russian Federation for two years, while she did not take money from «new settlers», reports Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the region.
«According to the police, from February 2021 to January 2023, a local resident carried out a fictitious registration of 624 citizens of the Russian Federation in one of the apartments. At the same time, she did not receive any money for these actions. The criminal case was sent to court for consideration on the merits,» the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.
The department did not specify how the defendant explains her actions.
The owner of the apartment, located, according to the regional prosecutor's office, in Obninsk, will be judged under article 322.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Fictitious registration of a citizen of the Russian Federation at the place of stay or at the place of residence in a residential building in the Russian Federation and fictitious registration foreign citizen or stateless person at the place of residence in a residential area in the Russian Federation). The maximum sanction of this article provides for up to three years in prison.
