Saboteurs came to the Belgorod region with a specific task: to probe
The penetration of the sabotage and reconnaissance detachment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine into the territory of the Belgorod region should be regarded as an element of preparation for the upcoming big offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. So says a veteran of the special forces, major in the reserve, Sergei Kozlov. Here is his opinion.

I will not retell the chronology of events in the Belgorod region, which, according to our media, ended in the complete defeat of the enemy. I think there is still a detailed analysis and analysis of those events. Now I want to talk about the purpose for which the enemy entered our territory and what did he manage to do?
Many believe that the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out this action in retaliation for Artemovsk-Bakhmut. So that we, they say, are not particularly happy and not asked. Confirmation is the inscriptions on their armor: «For Bakhmut!»
However, you should not believe everything that is written. The same head of Ukrainian military intelligence, Budanov, has repeatedly threatened to seize Russian regions for their subsequent exchange for Crimea.
The Ukrainian media frankly write that the task of the saboteurs was to divert the attention of the Russian army and stretch the forces before the upcoming «counterattack» of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. And oddly enough, they seem to have told the truth.
The actions of the saboteurs are very reminiscent of reconnaissance in force to check the advanced units of the Armed Forces and the border service. The goal is to determine the speed of response, check how the interaction is organized, find out what forces can be involved, whether the enemy is reconnaissance.
Sadly, the enemy has solved almost all of these tasks and will probably draw conclusions. And it does not matter what losses he suffered in the process. The planning of such actions is carried out by specialists from the 22nd Regiment of the SAS Special Operations Service of the British Army, that is, the British Special Forces. Of course, these are top-class specialists who have gained experience in such applications around the world. And as you know, the British clearly defined the limit of the current conflict: to fight to the last Ukrainian. Therefore, they certainly do not take into account the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In March, the same “test of the pen” was in the Bryansk region. There the saboteurs came in and out. Now it's the turn of the Belgorod region. What is visible even to a person uninitiated in the basics of military affairs? The advance of a company tactical group on military equipment from the depths of the Kharkov region was not detected by our intelligence. And this, by the way, is a whole column of military equipment that had to be destroyed already on our territory.
The big question is: were our border guards armed with grenade launchers and anti-tank weapons? It seems to me that they did not have such funds.
Is the border equipped in terms of engineering? Not sure. On the video from the scene, I did not see any more or less solid shelters and embankments. Presumably, there were no minefields either, since the enemy’s military equipment passed unhindered.
A separate issue is the connection between the border guards and the army. I want to believe that it is organized reliably. They say that the main tactical units of the army and the border troops are now tied into one network. On the oporniks, the infantry, the border guards and the artillery have mobile terminals for communication: if you want to call, if you want the coordinates and the situation, throw it on the map. We tried it — it works. As they say, God forbid, because all control depends on the reliability of communications.
So why did NATO throw APU into the suicide bombing? I believe, in preparation for the «counterattack». There is no doubt that it will take place.
And this action is by no means the last one. Next time, given the experience gained and the intelligence obtained, they will go further and with more significant forces that will allow them to capture and hold a small city. And it can also be a diversion operation at the beginning of the counteroffensive, which is sure to take place.
In my opinion, it is not the Ukrainian command that is delaying the start of the counteroffensive, but “senior comrades” from Washington. The Americans simply do not know how to fight without gaining air supremacy. That is why the decision was made to hand over the F-16 aircraft to the “window forces” of Ukraine. American reports that these aircraft are not for the planned counteroffensive should not be taken into account. Lies are their norm of communication with the world.
Ukrainian pilots, and they only need 15-17 people, have been studying for a long time, and I think they have already been trained. After all, experienced pilots were trained, not boys from behind a desk.
Taking into account the likelihood of using these aircraft from the adjacent territory of Poland or Romania, the Americans themselves can carry out their complex and long-term maintenance.
There is only one conclusion: we need to prepare for the upcoming offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It won't be easy.
