MOSCOW, May 30. The developers of the ISS Reshetnev satellite building company have completed the design communication satellite «Express-AMU4», according to the telegram channel of the company.
“The Reshetnevskaya company has completed the design of the Express-AMU4 communications and broadcasting spacecraft. Now the company is issuing design documentation for the manufacture of the satellite,” the report says.
It is noted that the device will be built on the basis of a qualified platform of the middle class «Express-1000». Changes related to import substitution will be made to its composition. The payload will also be produced by ISS Reshetnev.
The Express-AMU4 spacecraft is being created as part of the program to replenish the orbital constellation of the national operator FSUE Kosmicheskaya Svyaz and is designed to provide communications and broadcasting services.
As Aleksey Volin, general director of Kosmicheskaya Svyaz, said earlier, the satellite will be the first completely domestic communication device. Initially, it was assumed that the payload for the device would be made by the Franco-Italian company Thales Alenia Space, however, as Wolin specified, she had to «not quite of her own free will» abandon the project.
