The Investigative Committee initiated a case against the head of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee for the Tverskoy district of Moscow, Marat Tambiev, on taking a bribe on an especially large scale because of the 1,032.1 bitcoins found on him, that is, more than 1.6 billion rubles, Kommersant reports .
According to the investigation and the Prosecutor General's Office, on April 7, 2022, Tambiev received a bribe from members of the Infraud Organization hacker group Mark and Konstantin Bergmanov, as well as Kirill Samokutyaevsky. They, being under investigation in the case of illegal circulation of means of payment (Part 2 of Article 187 of the Criminal Code), asked not to arrest their accounts and paid for it with cryptocurrency.
On June 5, the Nikulinsky District Court of Moscow will consider the claim of First Deputy Prosecutor General Anatoly Razinkin about the arrest of Tambiev's income obtained by corruption. According to Kommersant, an Apple MacBook Pro laptop, which contained photos of access codes to an electronic wallet, was confiscated during a search.
Tambiev, according to the publication, denies his guilt in bribery. In addition, until recently, he sought reinstatement in the service through the courts. “He was fired from the TFR for violating his oath and committing an act discrediting the honor of an employee of the investigating body,” Kommersant added. The court dismissed the investigator's claim.
Since 2011, when Tambiev took up the post of investigator of the Gagarin inter-district investigative department, he rose to the head of the investigative department for the Tverskoy district of the capital's investigative department of the Investigative Committee. All this time, the investigator declared only his own salary.
