In the Chelyabinsk region, a suspect was detained in an attempt to set fire to a military registration and enlistment office and set fire to equipment on the railway. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the press service of the regional department of the FSB.
According to the source of 74.ru, detained for 26 years, he lived in Magnitogorsk, from where the security forces took him to Chelyabinsk. There, the Central District Court of the city sent the Ural citizen to a pre-trial detention center.
The man was detained «in hot pursuit» after «an attempt to set fire to the military registration and enlistment office,» the newspaper claims. Emergency services and local journalists did not write about the fire. The FSB also connected the Magnitogorsk citizen with the arson of relay cabinets on the Magnitogorsk-Gruzovoi-Kuibas stretch on the night of May 25.
A case was opened against the Ural citizen under an article on an attempted terrorist attack (part 3 of article 30, part 1 of article 205 of the Criminal Code) and sabotage (Article 281 of the Criminal Code), RIA Novosti and TASS write, citing a source in «law enforcement agencies.» Both agencies gave a version with the same wording, according to which the detainee «acted in the interests of the Ukrainian special services for material reward.»
