MOSCOW, June 5, Andrei Simonenko. Olympic champion in running in the 800 meters, Yuri Borzakovsky called the absence of a fight in the figure skaters' race as part of the Athletics Week in Moscow an element of the show.
On Monday, 2018 Olympic champion Alina Zagitova, 2022 Olympic team winner Kamila Valieva, Russian champion Sofya Akatieva and Russian Grand Prix Final winner Adelia Petrosyan took part in the figure skaters' race on Nikolskaya Street as part of the Athletics Week in Moscow. Athletes ran 60 meters jogging and tried to finish at the same time.
“There should be an element of show in every race, and figure skating is a sport like a show. Everything was planned that way,” Borzakovsky told reporters, answering a question why the skaters did not run at full strength.
