Doctors told how to defeat chronic prostatitis

Chronic prostatitis is one of the most common diseases of the prostate gland in men, which leads to problems with urination, sexual dysfunction, hormonal disruptions and is accompanied by pain. The causes of prostatitis are most often infectious agents, but there are frequent cases of inflammation due to congestive circulation or trauma. The causes and methods of treatment of chronic prostatitis were discussed by leading urologists at the ROU forum «Scientific Aspects of Urological Practice».

As a rule, for the treatment of chronic prostatitis, an integrated approach is used — the inclusion of antibiotics, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. However, antibiotic therapy does not always give the desired effect. This is often caused by biofilms, which can promote bacterial infection, interfere with the effective action of antibiotics, and even make diagnosis difficult. But in addition to obtaining accurate test results, timely drug therapy is important.

According to Denis Gennadyevich Pochernikov, urologist-andrologist, candidate of medical sciences, associate professor of the department of faculty surgery and urology, IvGMA of the Ministry of Health of Russia, almost 65-80% of human bacterial infections are associated with the formation of biofilms1. Their fibrous structure creates a barrier to antibiotics and immune cells, which greatly complicates therapy. The disease becomes chronic due to the persistence of the pathogen in the tissues. One of the solutions of drug therapy can be the destruction of biofilms with the help of modern drugs.

So, according to one of the studies2, the use of bovhyaluronidase azoximer reduces the content of biofilms by 50-60%. In addition, the combined use of the drug helps to increase the effectiveness of antibiotics3.

The formation of fibrosis, as a result of the inflammatory process, is no less dangerous for patients with prostatitis.

“In urology, the development of fibrosis is a very serious problem. Approximately 1-5% of men have obstruction at the level of the ejaculatory ducts, the acute phase of this disease may be associated with prostatitis, said Safar Israilovich Hamidov, MD, Professor, Head of the Department of Andrology and Urology of the National Research Center for Obstetrics and Gynecology and perinatology them. Academician V.I. Kulakova. — The use of Longidaza® in patients with chronic prostatitis can lead to the normalization of the spermogram and its microflora, as well as the onset of natural pregnancy in a couple.»

The speaker noted that the Russian molecule has an anti-fibrotic and anti-inflammatory effect, and also increases the effectiveness of antibiotic therapy, which reduces the frequency of relapses of chronic prostatitis.
