
MOSCOW, June 5 The Kuzminskaya wind power plant (WPP), built by Rosatom in the Stavropol Territory using import-substituting components, has begun supplying electricity to the Russian energy system, the press service reported wind energy division of the nuclear state corporation NovaWind JSC.
The station has an installed capacity of 160 MW and consists of 64 wind turbines, the report says.
«The Kuzminskaya wind farm is our eighth wind farm in the south of Russia and the sixth in the Stavropol Territory. Despite the sanctions pressure, we have not stopped the construction of the facility The first 100 MW have already entered the unified energy system of the country,” said Grigory Nazarov, Director General of NovaWind, whose words are given in the message.
«In a short time, the supply chain was restored, the replacement of outdated technologies with Russian developments and the provision of production with the necessary components were arranged. Kuzminskaya WPP is our first wind power plant equipped on a new supply chain, taking into account the strengthening of the technological sovereignty of the wind energy industry,» he said.
Wind energy is one of the main non-nuclear directions of Rosatom. JSC «NovaWind» controls all the competencies of the state corporation in wind energy — from design and construction to power engineering and operation of wind farms. To date, Rosatom has put into operation 880 MW of wind power capacities. In total, by 2027, Rosatom plans to put into operation wind power plants with a total capacity of about 1.7 GW.
