Vice-President of the National Automobile Union Jan Heitzeer spoke in an interview with Sputnik radio about a possible reduction in prices for Chinese cars in Russia in the next six months or a year. He noted that competition between Chinese automakers should lead to a reduction in the cost of their products in the domestic market.
According to Heitzeer, the Chinese auto industry is represented in Russia by various brands, and the number of available models is constantly increasing. However, so far Russian consumers do not show much interest in buying cars brought from China.
The expert noted that in China the same car models cost much less than in Russia. He expressed hope that competition between Chinese manufacturers will help reduce prices for their products in our country. In addition, Haytseer believes that reducing the cost of delivering cars can also help reduce their prices.
The expert predicts that price adjustments may occur within six months to a year and amount to five to ten percent. In general, he hopes that the Russian car market from China will be more saturated and more accessible to consumers.
