The Chertanovsky District Court of Moscow arrested Belarusian Dmitry Golovlev for 15 days under a protocol on the demonstration of extremist symbols (Part 1 of Article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). This was reported by OVD-Info with reference to the public defender Varvara Filippova.
As specified in the human rights project, the reason for the protocol was the launch of white-blue-white balloons with a flag attached to them in the same colors in the Chertanovo Severnoye metropolitan area. Golovlev was detained yesterday at the exit from the detention center, where he served 15 days, which he was assigned under the article on petty hooliganism (part 1 of article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
The first administrative case was brought against a citizen of Belarus, as near the entrance he «expressed obscene language and was drunk.» At the same time, he and his wife were detained on May 22 after launching balloons near the pond.
At the end of May, two residents of Zelenograd were fined because of white-blue-white flags on car numbers. Both women explained that the red stripe had faded. However, the court considered that the “changed color scheme” is the white-blue-white flag used by the Freedom of Russia legion, which was recognized as extremist.
