MOSCOW, June 7Iran is ready to provide Russia with technical and engineering services, as well as chemicals and catalysts used in the petrochemical industry, Deputy Oil Minister and General Director of the National Petrochemical Company (National Petrochemical Company, NPC) Morteza Shahmirzai, quoted by the Iranian Embassy in Moscow.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to provide technical and engineering services and cooperation in the field of chemicals and catalysts needed by the Russian oil and petrochemical industry in the context of sanctions against this country,” he said.
Shahmirzai invited Russian investors to participate in Iran's program to develop the petrochemical, oil and gas industries. He stressed that Iran has rich experience in overcoming the difficulties arising from sanctions, and said that investment projects will increase the potential of the petrochemical industry of the Islamic Republic from 92 to 140 million tons, and then, within the framework of a 6-year plan, up to 200 million tons.
The Deputy Minister noted the desire of the state and private sectors of Iran to strengthen cooperation with Russia in the field of technology and the provision of goods. According to him, the volume of economic cooperation between the two countries amounted to $5 billion in 2022, and in two years it will increase to almost $7 billion.
The Embassy informs that Iranian companies plan to sign over 10 cooperation agreements with Russian companies during the three days of the exhibition.
The 13th international exhibition of equipment and materials for the plastics industry Rosplast takes place on June 6-8, 2023 at the Crocus Expo IEC in Moscow. 183 exhibitors from Belarus, Germany, Iran, Italy, China, Russia, Taiwan and Turkey take part in it.
