MOSCOW, June 7 The Kondor-FKA radar satellite was launched from the Vostochny Cosmodrome a month ahead of schedule, NPO Mashinostroeniya reported where «Condor» was made.
«Kondor-FKA» No. 1 was launched from the Vostochny Cosmodrome on a Soyuz-2.1a rocket at 0.15 Moscow time on May 27. After 1 hour and 5 minutes, the upper stage «Fregat» delivered it to the calculated orbit. In 2024, it is planned to launch the second such device, and by 2029-2030 — two more.
«Initially, the enterprise was tasked with launching the satellite on June 27, 2023,» the message on the NPO Mashinostroeniya website reads.
At the assembly stage, the enterprise team decided that it was possible to launch the device within the proposed time frame.
On March 25, the Condor was delivered by plane to the Blagoveshchensk airport. It is noted that before taking the satellite to the cosmodrome, all 200 kilometers of the path from the capital of the Amur Region to Vostochny were «literally scanned» so that the truck driver had the most detailed information. Active preparations for the launch began at the cosmodrome on March 27.
The launch of Kondor-FKA was the first launch this year at the Vostochny cosmodrome.
