Raiffeisenbank introduced a 50% commission for receiving transfers in dollars; the bank has already charged $300 for sending foreign currency

From June 20, Raiffeisenbank will increase the commission for incoming transfers in dollars from other banks — it will amount to 50% of the amount, but not more than $500.

The decision was explained by the desire to «limit the number of incoming transfers in US dollars» in «conditions of changing market conditions».

Since April, they have allowed outgoing transfers in foreign currency only to customers who signed up for their premium packages before the beginning of spring, and also introduced a minimum amount of $20,000 and a flat fee of $300 for such transactions.

< p>From December 2022, Raiffeisenbank took a commission of 2% in the Internet bank and 3% in the branch for foreign currency transfers, while its minimum amount was to be $100.

After the start of the war in Ukraine, the United States and The European Union imposed sanctions against 31 Russian banks, including Sberbank, VTB, Tinkoff and Alfa-Bank. Many of them were banned from money transfers via the SWIFT system.

Tinkoff, Gazprombank Renaissance Credit and other banks also raised the commission and the amount of the minimum currency transfer against this background. Some banks, including Raiffeisen, introduced fees for keeping money in foreign currency accounts.
