MOSCOW, June 11 Russia managed to fully adapt to new realities in the shortest possible time without making emergency decisions, Valentina Matvienko wrote in a blog on the website of the Federation Council.
«We managed to adapt the state, society, our economy to new realities in the shortest possible time. To do this without worsening the quality of people's lives. Without shying away in the socio-political sphere, without restrictions, even the slightest, of the rights and freedoms of citizens. Without throwing, adoption of emergency measures in the field of economic management, although there was no shortage of such calls,» the speaker of the Federation Council wrote.
Matvienko noted that Russia still «waits for new serious challenges», they must be met fully armed, which will require «a new quality of interaction between government and society.»
«We will ensure it, because over the thirty years of Russia's recent history, a reliable, strong foundation has been laid under our statehood, social system. I note with satisfaction that a real civil society has developed in the country, where everyone is aware of their personal responsibility for the present and future of the country,» the parliamentarian explained.
Chairman of the upper chamber of the Russian parliament stressed that Russia «cannot be driven into a corner, isolated, made into a rogue state», because the international agenda promoted by Russia is based on respect for sovereignty, comprehensive and equal cooperation.
«In this situation, we have a clear understanding of our strategic goals, the confidence that they will certainly be realized. Today I see that Russia is again, in the words of the famous Russian diplomat Prince Alexander Gorchakov, focusing.
