VLADIVOSTOK, June 10 Plenum of the regional committee of the regional organization The Communist Party of the Russian Federation decided not to nominate its candidate for the upcoming September elections for the governor of Primorye, said Anatoly Dolgachev, first secretary of the committee of the Primorsky regional branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, head of the faction in the regional parliament.
«The Communists by a majority of votes (only two people out of 27 were against), decided not to participate in the elections (of the Governor of Primorsky Territory — ed.), not to nominate their own candidate … The party, it seems to me, made a sober and balanced decision. .. to boycott the elections, because we see no political sense in it. Without representatives of the Communist Party in the vast majority of precinct election commissions in Vladivostok, we will not be able to control the votes of our voters,» Dolgachev said.
He added that an appeal was also made to the participants of the forthcoming conference of the Primorye Communist Party of the Russian Federation in order to support the decision of the plenum.
“An unprecedented event occurred in Vladivostok, when in most districts of the city only 15% of the party’s representatives were left in precinct election commissions, the rest were not included. And Vladivostok is a significant part of the voters … of Primorsky Krai,” Dolgachev noted .
According to him, a complaint has been filed with the CEC against the formation of precinct election commissions in Vladivostok. «If the members of our PECs are approved, that is, if the Central Election Commission cancels the decision on the current formation of the PEC in Vladivostok, then, of course, the party will decide to participate in the elections,» the source added.
The election of the governor of Primorsky Krai will be held on a single voting day, September 10, 2023.
