MOSCOW, June 15 African leaders have to offer a series of «confidence-building measures» as part of a mission to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, Reuters reports, citing a draft framework document.
African leaders may propose a range of 'confidence-building measures' in their initial efforts to mediate the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
According to him, the measures may include the withdrawal of Russian forces, the movement of tactical nuclear weapons from Belarus, the suspension of the ICC warrant for the «arrest» of Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as the lifting of some Western sanctions against Russia. In addition, the list may include «an unconditional deal on grain and fertilizers.»
It is noted that subsequently there may be an agreement on the cessation of hostilities and negotiations between Russia and the West.
Earlier, Russian presidential aide for international affairs Yuri Ushakov said that President Vladimir Putin would receive a delegation of African countries in St. Petersburg on June 17 to discuss the initiative for a peaceful settlement in Ukraine, members of the African delegation would visit Kiev before that and hold talks with the leadership of Ukraine.
